Tribes
Allocation
We want to congratulate our almost 3000 participating rangers/rovers all over the world of making a good choice coming to Finland next summer to explore a beautiful nature, an intercultural feeling and making new friends.
The participants have been divided into tribes with ~50 members. We have taken each patrols’ path choices into consideration but unfortunately we didn’t manage to fulfill everybody’s wishes. Among other things we have been dealing with restrictions with the facilities and participants’ special needs. And of course we wanted to make sure each tribe has an international variety! When reallocating patrols we have looked at the theme and difficulty level of each patrols’ original path wishes.
Don’t look too closely at the original path descriptions – some of the paths have slightly changed and moreover you have the chance to discuss about the path with your tribe leaders and influence on the upcoming adventure.
It’s time to be open minded, log in to the tribe’s Facebook group and start getting ready for a lifetime adventure next summer!
Check out the tribe lists and information about the tribe.
Tribe formation
The tribes form the main units during Roverway 2012. A tribe is a group of patrols from different countries. One tribe is taking part in one path. Each tribe is lead by a pair of Tribe leaders.
The tribes are formed by patrols from different countries. One patrol has 5-15 members. Each patrol has one or two patrol leaders, who are at least 18 years old. The patrol leaders are counted as memebers of the patrol, which maximum size is 15 persons. The patrol leaders act as a voice between the participants and the contingent and the project organisation.
